For 12 years prior to joining Microsoft Marcus was the managing of an managed IT services company based in Leeds. In recent years Marcus has assisted many organisations with the migration of services from traditional on premises environments to the public cloud.  He has become an a recognised expert in technologies such as Windows Server and Microsoft Azure and has also authored numerous training courses for Learning Tree International.
 
Joining Microsoft provided the ideal opportunity for Marcus to concentrate on what he enjoys - working with and talking about the latest technologies.

Detective Constable Paul Taylor is an investigator working in the Greater Manchester Police (GMP) Cyber Crime Team. The Team are a dedicated resource put in place in November 2014 to deal with the rising threat of cyber crime and investigate all reports of Computer Misuse Act offences and online extortion reported to GMP.

Over the last two years GMP have dealt with over 9,000 reports of cyber enabled crime which is ever increasing and affects most crime types including harassment, blackmail, fraud and emerging crime coined as sextortion and revenge porn.

Paul has investigated a number of denial of service attacks against online retailers, website hacking & defacements and an increasing number of ransomware reports. Paul believes that prevention is key to reducing the affect cyber crime has on the public and businesses and is passionate about sharing real life experiences of cyber crime victims and the tales told by those that get arrested for such offending.
