Manchester, UK – 26 April 2017: IP EXPO Manchester concluded for 2017 in Manchester Central today, with an insightful opening keynote from Mike Hobday of IBM Watson, delving into the future of AI. Mike shared his experience working with IBM Watson and how intelligent automation and robotics will be transforming 25% of content jobs in the next two years.
Discussions of the future continued throughout the day, with an in-depth panel debate on the Future of IoT, bringing together Michael Hobbs of Accenture Digital, Ken Munroe of Pen Test Partners LLP, Tomasz Mloduchowski of Zedaro and Michael Karliner, the former CTO of Shazam now at RedSift.
GDPR, a hot topic for businesses, was also another popular discussion at the show. With a year to go until the regulations come into force, audiences gathered to hear from Gareth Neal of PwC, debating whether GDPR is really a business risk; David King of Secon Cyber Security, who provided advice on the requirements needed before GDPR comes into place; Jeremy Hendy of RepKnight, who prompted thought about firewalls in relation to GDPR and Robert Farnod of Splunk illustrating a day in the life of a GDPR breach.
