Mark Bayne is an IT Security Professional, with 19 years’ industry experience. Having started as a Security Administrator in a small IT consultancy, Mark learned the trade in a small dynamic environment where IT security requirements were only beginning to be understood. Continuing his specialisation, Mark spent most of the following 6 years working in the Security Pre-Sales team at Nokia, progressing to running the Greater China region, focusing on security appliances running CheckPoint and VPN technologies. As network security appliances began to dominate and saturate the market, Mark joined Imperva to focus on the new Application and Data Security space, pioneered by Shlomo Kramer.
After 9 years, where Imperva developed from small start-up to a leading public Security vendor, Mark joined Cato Networks in 2016. An extremely exciting move to a company that is redefining and disrupting the approach to Networking and Security. At Cato Networks, Mark runs the EMEA Sales Engineering team to bring value to companies with a solution providing a software-defined and cloud-based secure enterprise network, reducing MPLS costs, eliminating branch appliances, and providing secure internet access everywhere.

Firewall-as-a-Service: Enterprise Grade Security for Everyone
Firewalls and UTMs have been the cornerstone of network security for the past 20 years. Yet, deploying appliances at every remote office, creates multiple challenges for organizations: the capital needed to buy, upgrade and retire hardware solutions and the tough tradeoff between hardware capacity and strong security. Organizations end up compromising on strength of protection or the end user experience.
Even when running smoothly, firewalls and UTMs are location bound and can't effectively protect the mobile users and cloud infrastructure that are now an integral part of the business.
