Tom is a highly experienced and educated Mobile Enterprise Architect with expertise gained almost 20 years across a varied range of industry sectors, including Telecommunications, Healthcare, Financial Services and Utilities. He has extensive knowledge and experience in emerging technologies and innovation and is a recognised thought-leader in RFID,M2M, Internet Of Things (IoT) and tracking and traceability.
Tom is a well-respected Enterprise Architect with a considerable technology background covering many industry verticals, notably in the area of Mobility Strategy and Architecture. In addition to the scope of his experience, he has a proven capability to understand the complex technical aspects of the solutions he is working with.
Tom is a keen evangelist in the use of proven innovation for Enterprise Architectural modelling and Architectural Description, notably in the area of The Open Group ArchiMate open modelling standard.
Tom has worked in a number of specialist areas over the years, the most notable of which are Internet of Things, RFID, M2M, Cloud Computing, Digital Identity and Privacy. Tom was a recognised expert in NZ in the field of RFID and Real Time Location Systems (RTLS), and was regularly called upon to deliver seminars and presentations to both the Public and Private sector. Tom was invited personally to work with the New Zealand Government to provide technology consulting as part of a Legislature Review of privacy and Technology, in addition to delivering technology sessions to the New Zealand Public. Tom is a technical member of the MQTT OASIS committee for the development of the MQTT (Internet of Things) messaging standard.
Tom possesses considerable experience in the areas of Emerging Technologies and Innovation. Tom has worked with large corporate customers on various engagements to design and implement Proof-of-Concept capability for emerging technologies such as Internet of Things,RFID, M2M and Location Based Services.
